Although this 36inch span model of a Bristol Scout, built from a free magazine plan, started out as electric and powered by 7 cells and a Graupner Speed 400 on a gearbox, a shortage of Oomph! didn`t get it flying so an SC 12 was fitted which transformed it.
This photo shows the "Scout" after an extensive rebuild with a new in-line cowl, although no longer resembling a "Scout" with its squared nose and looking more like an SE5A it still flew extremely well.
This shot shows yours truly (holding the tranny)
about to test fly the Scout. You can get a good idea of the size
of the model from this photo.
