Introduction

If you are a keen model builder and flyer like us then some of the content of this site will probably be old hat, but if you are new to the Sport of Radio Control Model Flying or just an interested onlooker then I hope that you will find something of value.....besides.. you can ALWAYS learn something new.

First.... a little bit about the club. The Waveney Model Flying Club was formed way back in the late 1950's by Dick Wickham and a few friends........ and started flying from the old disused runways at Ellough Airfield, Beccles. Although the club still resides at Ellough it is not on the same bit, the club had to negotiate with a local farmer to lease a part of the field after the section that was being used was taken over by a pallet company. The club found itself operating opposite the Beccles Heliport which was run by Bristow's, as you can imagine it had it's drawbacks. As time passed the Heliport ceased operating and a private flying club Rainair took the site on. We now have a very good working relationship with the full size flying club and are very aware of any full size flying activity and endeavour to keep our models and theirs apart.

The club has now moved to a new flying site at Aldeby which is just North of Beccles across the Waveney Valley.

Check out Club Stuff for more info on the club
