This photo shows my modified Global ARTF Republic P47 Thunderbolt, I decided that I didn`t like the colour scheme on the kit model so out came the paints and what you see is the finished article. To get the required finish I had to remove the trim stripes to the wing and tail and lightly flat all the pre-covered surfaces with a red Scotchbrite pad in oreder for the paint to adhere, the model was then brush painted with Humbrol enamel and sprayed with fuel proofer, I think you will agree that it was well worth the effort. The photo incidentaly was taken at the Norwich Model Aero Club "field" at RAF Coltishall.
Another shot of "Big Aggie" as I affectionately called her. Powered by an MDS 58 with Futaba radio control looking after the flying surfaces, Irvine retracts add the finishing touches when flying, weighing just over 7 pounds she`s no lightweight so landings have to be fairly fast but not extreme, deadstick she flies like a tiolet!, so it`s best to land while you have fuel and power!
