I'm not sure of the actual year these photos were taken but it should have been about 1977-ish. Apologies for the quality of some of the photos but they have been taken from slides and the reproduction is not great.

Yet another view of the flightline??...with a nice model of a P47 Thunderbolt in the foreground.
The P47 being carried back to the flightline after a successful flight.
Another American warbird....this time an F4U Corsair, the model in the immediate background is an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley.
Another warbird... but of a different era, a German Fokker DR1 Triplane of World War One.
From the other protagonists in World War One a model of the British SE5 fighter.
I had to include this shot showing the detail that has gone into the engine on a model of the British FE2b fighter, the aircraft had a pusher engine in order to give a clear field of fire for the gunner seated in front of the pilot.
The quality of this photo doesn't do the model justice but you can see that it was a very nice model of a World War Two German Messerchmitt Me109E fighter.
Another Messerchmitt fighter, this time of the jet Me262, in the days before model jets the best one could do was either a ducted fan, which were still in their infancy, or put an engine in the front as on this model.
An unusual model this one of a Henschel Hs126 reconnaissance aircraft.
Another shot of the Henschel Hs126
Another unusual model, a Dornier Do18 flying boat, the aircraft had two engines, one pulling and one pushing mounted in tandem.
A P40 Kittyhawk fighter of World War Two
A fairly large model of what looks like a Piper Cub
I've really no idea what this model is but I think it may be an Apache or Comanche......If anyone knows then please E-mail me.

Ok! well that's it, I hope you enjoyed a little bit of nostalgia,
the models don't seem all that different to today do they? but remember that
today's modern materials weren't available then and some of the modern materials
then were not easy to come by. Having said that a lot of the stuff we use today
has been around a long time but the choice was limited.![]()
