Clipped Piper J3 Cub
This is my latest model which if you have been to this site before then you would have seen the construction of it on the building board page. The model is of a clipped wing Piper J3 Cub, it originally started life as a full span kit but I decided to do a clipped wing version instead....... bit more aerobatic! The model is built from a Sig Craftsman kit from the USA and a very nice kit it is too. It is powered by an SC 52 four stroke and has bags of power, radio control is by Futaba.
As can be seen from this photo the model has a full cockpit, complete with moving controls, and opening window and door. the pilot is an action figure with moving arms and legs.
Colour scheme is very bright, being modelled on a full size colour scheme.
Close up of the dummy engine, I am quite proud of the end result it is all balsa apart from the top shroud which is card, the exhaust shown is a dummy, the real one being on the other side.
